*In 1607-Jamestown, Virginia was the first permanent English settlement
*In 1620-Pilgrims arrived on Plymouth
*In 1776- Declaration of Independence
*In 1787- Constitutional Convention (the founding fathers sign the Constitution)
*In 1803- Louisiana Purchase (Doubled the size the U.S.)

* In 1861-1865- Civil War
